Anyone a fan? I got a cheapy deal on Rosemarys Baby, Stepford Wives and A Kiss before Dying which ade me remember what a good writer he is so I just ordered Boys from Brazil and This Perfect day.
Is Sliver better as the book than the film, do you know? and is it worth tracking down Veronicas Room or Three?
hmm. not sure about steampunk, I just downloaded Hellbent to see how it goes, athough I tend to like authors much more than genres so I might really enjoy it.
>Steampunk
Well if you are going to try steampunk read The Difference Engine which kicked off the genre.
For cyberpunk, you can't beat Snow Crash.
I've only watched the movie versions of Rosemary's Baby and Stepford Wives.
Luckily, Hellbent is no steampunk. It's a detective story with a bit of vampire (+assorted fantasy and humour) thrown in. But some of Cherie's other books are a mix of Zombie + Steampunk. Maybe a bit OTT at times, but this woman has a dry sense of humour that I like a lot.
It was a similar combo of humour, dark fantasy and a slight bit of suspense that made me love Jonathan L. Howard's "Johannes Cabal the Necromancer".
Oh god, I hated the movie Rosemary's Baby. Not even Mia Farrow's tits could save it for me.

I'm familiar with Rosemary's Baby (which I liked a lot). The rest of em are film titles to me :-)
Gotta add I've got lots of other books in the pipeline, including Westerfeld's Leviathan Trilogy for instance (reading pt.3 at the mo) and anything written by Cherie Priest.
