I'm not a gamer so This matters little to me but MS has announced that they intend to have their smartphone OS connect to XBox:

I can see how this would help Win Phone OS stand out from the pack which is probably a good thing.  But for now it remains vaporware.

what is vaporware?

I guess they are just showing what is possible. Testing the way they can connect things up for better future stuff. Yeah. What am I talking about?

What they should do is produce a cheap wireless box that you connect to you TV and control with a remote (or phone) to play media from your PC, including streamed video. This will probably stomp all over GoogleTV and the other boxes, as these days most people have Windows on a PC and a wireless internet connection (that they do not use, just most routers seem to have wireless these days).

WHy don;t they do that? A box for 50 quid and a cd for the software on windows? Can it be that hard?

Ooooh, that looks fun. Pretty sure my tv is not wi-fi ready though.
