Zombies and Pop Culture

Everything is Zombie here.  Zombies have caught on in such a big way in pop culture in the US.  I can't help but wonder if 'zombie invasion' is a code word for our fear of potential social unrest and looting hords.

Have Zombies and Zombie invasions caught the imagination in the UK and Europe the way they seem to have caught on here?

No, we have The Only Way Is Essex. Which is not all that different really. Mindless morons staggering about with a shitload of makeup on.

Well putting the sex in Essex is better than eating brains.  Just saying.

there are definately no brains involved in TOWIE.

Except for those of the people who realised it would make them shedloads of money, obviously.

Yeah, I imagine one day some TV producers were watching Katie Price on the tele and then suddenly realised that there is money to be made from filming boring people in expensive clothes.  In fact, it is all ITV, probably the same people.

I've definitely seen more reference to zombie invasion / apocalypse in recent times.  Yup - google proves it. Searched for more in Wales.  Makes sense - you'd start there: Less chance of getting spotted.
